#CAPIZtahan: Sadsad Capiz a must-see

ROXAS City – This year’s CAPIZtahan will see performers clad in colorful seafood and mythical-creature costumes dancing on the streets to the beat of drums.

Sadsad Capiz, a street-dancing competition, is “a must-see event,” said Gov. Antonio del Rosario.

While Ati-Atihan in Aklan and Dinagyang in Iloilo are already famous, Sadsad Capiz will be distinct in terms of costumes and dance rhythm as it showcases “our culture, pride and artistry,” del Rosario said.

Performing groups shall be composed of at least 30 dancers (excluding drummers) who will represent each municipality and this component city.

Ivisan mayor Noel N. Yap considers performing in Sadsad Capiz an “opportunity” for his town known for talaba, among other sea produce.

CAPIZtahan, to be held from April 21 to 23, marks the 116th founding anniversary of the civil government of Capiz.

Meanwhile, the Parade of Lights will involve dance performances adorned by colorful LED lights while showcasing products and stories from the local governments.

Other Capiztahan events include Fiesta Capiznon, Unlikultura Expo, Capiztahan Trade Fair, agro-industrial fair, and fireworks competition. (Rex Talabucon, with Capiz Aksyon News Center/PN)
